First: The Economic Self-Own
For years, Trump blamed immigrants for economic problems. But according to Rep. Pettersen, Trump’s mass deportation policy just wrecked the economy he said it would save.
Turns out scapegoating hardworking immigrants comes with a price tag.
CEOs across the country are now sounding the alarm. Economists estimate more than 1 million workers disappearing from the U.S. labor force due to immigration crackdowns has left industries like agriculture, construction, and health care scrambling to fill jobs. Inflation could climb toward 4% as businesses raise wages and pass those costs to consumers.
“The number one thing you could do to address rising costs is create pathways for people to work here,” Pettersen said. “And instead, they’re deporting the workforce that we rely on.”
Then comes the twist.
According to a New York Times report, Trump is now seeking to make it easier for farms to hire migrant workers. Yes. The same migrant workers his own policy just deported. You truly can’t make it up.
Then It Gets Darker
At the same time, the media continues to ignore how bad the horrific and inhumane conditions continue to be for those in detention.
Pettersen revealed that the Trump administration is secretly holding immigrant detainees, including children, in small inhumane concrete rooms – some with no beds, toilets, or drinking water for over a month.
The ages of detainees she referenced ranged from one year old to ninety-one years old.

And Then The Global Consequences
The conversation then turned to the war with Iran.
Pettersen warned that the administration’s decision to fire experienced intelligence officials may have already had deadly consequences.
Outdated targeting intelligence likely led to the missile strike hitting a school in Iran, killing about 175 people, mostly children.
“We were cutting funds instead of investing in the necessary support,” Pettersen explained.

Her Final Verdict
After discussing the economy, detention conditions, and the war, Pettersen summed up her view of Trump in stark terms:
“He’s the most immoral and incompetent and corrupt person in history.”
Strong words. But after hearing the evidence she laid out, many Americans may decide those words aren’t hyperbole. They’re accurate — and a warning.
So far, the media has largely ignored Rep. Pettersen’s warnings. We don’t have to.
