During a virtual conversation with author Sharon McMahon, Kamala Harris was directly asked whether she would run for president again. Her reply was brief: “I might.”
Harris exited the 2020 primary before any votes were cast. In 2024, she entered the race after Biden withdrew but was defeated by Trump in a decisive loss. Now, as she promotes her book “107 Days,” she is clearly keeping the possibility of 2028 open.
Early surveys show California Governor Gavin Newsom slightly leading her among Democratic voters. Newsom recently drew attention by acknowledging that her early political rise was connected to her relationship with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown.
