During Miami Swim Week 2018, model and new mother Mara Martin got a lot of attention when she walked the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit runway while bre@stfeeding her 5-month-old daughter. She wore a gold bikini and held her baby, who had blue earmuffs on to protect her ears from the loud music. The crowd applauded her.

 

Mara, who is from Michigan, was one of 16 models chosen to walk at the W South Beach Hotel. She later shared on Instagram that she never expected the moment to go viral. She said her goal was to show that breastfeeding in public is normal and that mothers can be confident while caring for their children. She also praised the other models, saying they all showed strength and inspiration in different ways.
