In July 2022, a 16-year-old teenager named Corion Evans showed extraordinary courage in Moss Point, Mississippi. While walking near a boat launch, Corion witnessed a car carrying three teenage girls accidentally drive into the river. As the vehicle began to sink and the girls struggled in the water, Corion didn’t hesitate. He removed his shirt and shoes and jumped straight into the river to help.
One by one, he swam out and assisted the girls, keeping them afloat and guiding them toward safety. During the rescue, a police officer who had entered the water to help began struggling and swallowing water. Seeing this, Corion turned back and helped the officer reach shore as well.
Thanks to his quick thinking, strength, and selflessness, four lives were saved that day. Corion Evans was later honored by local authorities and praised nationwide, proving that heroism doesn’t require a uniform—just courage and compassion.
