What was meant to be a joyful celebration turned into a life-changing tragedy.
During her 17th birthday party, a teenage girl was pushed face-first into her birthday cake by her boyfriend — a so-called “prank” that many people dismiss as harmless fun. Seconds later, laughter turned into shock and panic. The cake contained wooden support sticks used to hold its shape, and one of them seriously injured the girl’s eyes.
As a result of the incident, the young girl reportedly lost her vision.
This heartbreaking event is a powerful reminder that actions done “for fun” can have devastating consequences. Cakes, especially multi-layered or decorated ones, often contain hard supports, plastic or wooden sticks, and sharp objects hidden inside. What looks soft on the outside can be extremely dangerous.
