“You have to sIeeep with this brown G0AT every morning. And if you miss any day, the person you love most will pay the price.” The old woman said in a fierce manner.

“You have to sIeeep with this brown G0AT every morning. And if you miss any day, the person you love most will pay the price.” The old woman said in a fierce manner.

Sophia’s heart was racing uncontrollably like a drum being beaten under duress.

Her legs were shaking.

She turned back again to look at Angela, but her head was still bent.

Now, it was finally time to j0in the Green Motherhood.

“Do you agree with this or not?” The woman asked, sending cold shivers down Sophia’s spine.

But before she could respond, someone tapped her thigh, and immediately, she jolted up from the bed.

“Sophia, what is wrong with you?” That was the first thing she heard, and turned her head, it was her brother. He looked so confused.

“Wait! For how long have I been sleeping?” She asked, as her gaze fell on the wall clock.

The time was 4pm. It was evening.

“You’ve been sleeping since yesterday night, Sophia… and have refused to wake up… you got everyone scared.”

“Jesus!” Sophia arched her brows in both shock and perplexity.

“You mean I slept this long?” She asked.

“Yes… we thought something bad had happened to you.” He said, slowly touching her forehead.

“Let me tell daddy and mummy that you’re awake.” Then he ran out of the room, leaving Sophia.

“Jeez! So it was all a dream?” She mumbled inaudibly to herself, removing the duvet from her body.

“It felt so dåmn real.” She muttered quietly.

Just then, Ambrose appeared from the sitting room. He had gone to call their parents.

“My daughter… you’re awake!” Sophia’s mum screamed and ran to hug her, while the father watched with a faint smile.

****
(NOW AT THE SITTING ROOM)

One could see Sophia sitting on the same sofa with her dad. Opposite them say Ambrose together with the mother.

They all gazed at Sophia, like they were expecting her to say something.

“I had a very terrible dream.”

“Dream?” her parents asked simultaneously.

“Yes, a dream… a nightmare.”

“Tell us about it. Your father and I would pray and rebuke it.” Her mother said.

“In the dream, you and Papa were no more, and Ambrose was terribly sick…”

“God forbid!” The mother abruptly cut in, holding onto her Bible at once.

“The devil is a liar!” Her father said, calmly. “Say no more.”

“Ambrose, go and carry your bible… let’s call upon the Lord of host, for he has revealed the plans of the power of our enemies… and light must prevail over darkness.”

As they held hands and began to pray, Sophia sat quietly and listened to her parents call upon God with faith that did not shake.

And in that moment, she understood something.
When fear speaks loudly, faith must speak louder.

The enemy may plant frightening pictures in your sleep. Desperation may whisper dangerous ideas into your mind. Poverty may try to convince you that shortcuts are the only way out.

But prayer reminds you who you are.

There will always be voices promising quick wealth.

There will always be people who make darkness look attractive.

There will always be moments when your problems look bigger than your principles.

But no amount of money is worth losing your peace. No shortcut is worth losing your soul. And no desperation is stronger than a family that knows how to kneel and pray.

Sometimes, the real miracle is not sudden wealth.

Sometimes, the real miracle is waking up before you make a terrible decision.

Guard your heart when you are desperate. Because not every opportunity is from God.

THE END.
